Disorderly persons offenses are charges that are not indictable and are generaly heard in Municipal Court. Disorderly persons offenses can carry up to a six (6) month jail term. Petty Disorderly persons offenses can carry up to a thirty (30) day jail term. Even though these matters are not indictable and subject to Grand Jury review, a conviction for certain disorderly persons offenses can have an impact on your criminal record and employment.
